#1: re: "Fascinating Rhythm", what the hell is a "fliver?"
#2: disregard #1. according to my unabridged, a "flivver" (well, no
*wonder*) is obsolete (~1905) slang for an older, cheaper, smaller
automobile. So to shake like a flivver = to ride in the backseat of the
Pine State Nova.
#3: Whose brilliant idea was it for the movie theaters in this town to
stay open on the 24th until only 9:30? No later show? No "Scream" for me
tonight? Waaah.
#4: *MY* mother has a T-1 running directly into her school. (that's
Walhalla, SC--as small as it sounds. Shit. They didn't *have* the WWW
when I was in high school, otherwise I'd be jealous.)
If I had gone home for the holidays, I would have gone straight up
there, set up an NT box with a couple of modems, and given ol' mom a
pretty fukkin speedy home dialup connection for Xmess. I guess it'll
have to wait till spring.
#5: If you're in Chapel Hill on the 25th and you know where I live,
and/or know my phone numbers, I've got enough coffee beans to brew a
gallon of coffee. So if you're jonesing, you might be able to score at
my crib, dig?
That concludes the gratuitous use of slang for the evening.
#6: I'm putting the tiny chunk of archive that is left up on the WWW.
By the end of the night, the first smidgen will reside at
http://sunsite.unc.edu/grady/ch-scene/archive/archome.htm
One day it will be searchable. Not today, it ain't.
