About three years ago I got a letter from some "production company" in 
Raleigh
that had the gall to ask for $100-$400 to "evaluate" my band. We 
declined.

Beware kiddies, there's always some nerk who wants to be a wannabe and

to be in "the biz" any way he can.

Yeah, I got something similar in the mail a few months ago.  A 
*promotions* company that would put me on their lousy compilation CD for 
$300!!  Their biggest client was (honest to GOD) Donna Douglas, the 
woman who played Daisy on the Beverly Hillbillies.
