i too lived in PA, 9 months, and i hated it more than anyone can imagine.
but then, i lived about 20 miles away from an underground mine fire near a
coal town where there were more birth defects per capita than anywhere else
in the state. "has something to do with the gases," one local pundit said.
why is it, when i see the word "pundit," i always think of what is probably
more accurately called a jester: guy in a forked hat with bells. not my
point. point being that the "more than 9 women" story is either true in many
states (NC, Mass, VA, PA, MA, and SC, at last count) or is an urban legend.
no help, i know, but 1997's breathing down my neck and i'm nervous.
