oh yeah, you've told me this before, haven't you? 
speaking of dimentia, i found out all this stuff about my family history
this week and one of my great uncles was this really handsome and
incredibly intelligent man who could
play guitar, mandolin, classical piano, and sax.  i didn't know anyone in
my family was musical. 
now he's 84 and has severe dimentia and had no idea what is going on ever.
he can't even remember who his wife is. this makes me very sad.  is this
what we have to look forward to?

i also found out that my last name is really "hauter", not "halter", but
when my grandfather was little, the way he and his checkoslovakian parents
pronounced it sounded like "halter" and so it just changed.  it even says
"hauter" on my g-pa's birth certificate.  this kind of boggeled my mind.
