Well I called the Director of Greek Life here at Drexel and he told me that
there is an ancient law on the Commonwealth books that prohibit a certain
number of unrelated women from living together in a private, non-religious
oriented housing unit. The exact number he did not know. He says that
this law is not enforced now and sororities have tried to get a house, but
with the price of real estate now in and around college communities
combined with the lack of support its near impossible to do so. Which led
to a conversation about how support for sororities is different in the
north and the South, seems sororties are much better supported down South.
