Jeez-how about newspapers don't hire reporters who will report on REAL
issues that may damage precious corporate USA. The following is an e-mail I
received
from David Kirsh, editor/distributor of the Prism...

Videographer Rob Cotter will lead a discussion and show video footage about
the Ogoni people of Nigeria and their struggle with the Nigerian military
regime. Shell Oil has been taking over Ogoni lands with the aid of the
dictatorship, which has received military equipment from Shell. Public
relations dollars have apparently been influencing the sparse coverage about
these events--including the African-American press.
Rob Cotter works with the cosmetics firm Body Shop, which has been trying to
publicize the Nigerian human rights situation. He also co-produced, with
Maureen Costello, the documentary video "Hamlet: The Untold Tragedy."
FREE. Discussion follows. Call 968-4062 for directions.
