funny you should mention it, but a few weeks ago i gave a prism staffer a
couple of _backporch revolutionary_. and then last week i see this _prism_
full of stories echoing every education concern voiced in _br_. i'm sure
this is just a weird coincidence, though.

speaking of david kirsch, you encourage politics, dontcha, duncan? kirsch
used to do the most killer talk show on wsha called _the unofficial story_.
none of this sitting around the microphone blubbering about what kinda
chewing gum holds its flavor the longest. the fucker rocked so hard he got
kicked off the air coz the peeps at shaw thought he was too radical for
community radio after he had ramona africa on the air to describe her
account of the bombing of the move compound in philadelphia. he also got
_pacifica_ carried on wsha before xyc had it, contributes to the _free radio
press_ (formerly the _radio resistors bulletin_), founded a group called
balance and accuracy in journalism that tries to badger wunc into some
semblance of even-handed community reporting, and writes for extra!, a
publication of fairness and accuracy in reporting.

anyway, _the unofficial story_ was the most intense political radio i've
ever heard originating from a licensed outlet in this country. if -any-
radio station around here were the least bit serious about appearing to have
any political effect and doing something other than just spinning the latest
product from skin graft, or interviewing filmmakers who haven't even have a
film, all while asking what do -you- do, they'd be knocking on this guy's door
pronto. radioprism. of course, he may not be a unc alum so that would let xyc
off the hook, so to speak.

anyhow, it's just freaking amazing the _prism_ has kept going for so long.
