long live rocknroll!  the backsliders and jason and the scorchers damn
near turned
the cradle upsidedown this evening!  talk about hardcore honky tonk, these
guys don't know whether to rock or to twang, so they do both and do it
well.    
if any of you were there, how can you not love jason and his
leopard fur trimmed jacket and warren's around the back guitar move?
there were more down home country people there then i had seen in awhile
all in one place and they were having a blast.  for some reason i felt
like i was on the set of some crazy old country flick and they were
shooting the bar scene where everyone is having a good old time steppin
to the music and getting wasted and yelling "woohoooo!" how surreal.

you can't beat a
hyped up version of "country roads/west virginia" for the third
encore.  after the show, some drunk guy next to me says "i don't know what
to
make of these guys, ya know, if they metal or country or what. but they
were tight."  so there ya go.  from the mouths of drunks.

go see Two Dollar Pistols tommorow night at the cave and have a tear with
your beer.  Howie can make you weep.
