WINSTON GRENNAN,Master Drummer of Jamaica and the creator of the one-drop 
reggae rhythm, will join EMRYS at Skylight Exchange's first Artist 
Showcase on Sunday, January 19th.

"Although EMRYS just started out, it's a very strong band. Their music is 
very sweet to listen to - they don't complicate it with a lot of 
distraction and noise which, unfortunately, is fairly common with new 
rock'n'roll bands. I listened many times to their new CD "Civic Studies;" 
it's very clean, well-recorded.

I'm looking forward to hearing EMRYS play live. I usually don't sit in 
with other groups, but these guys play their instruments well, they're 
serious musicians, so I decided to come down to Chapel Hill and jam with 
them. I really think this band will be going places..."

Grennan recently returned from a 2-month US/Europe tour with TOOTS & THE 
MAYTALS; THIRD WORLD introduced Grennan as "The Unknown Legend of 
Jamaica" at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland...
