So that Kelly Boley guy confirmed that we do have two+ years of archives
around, but when I told him I couldn't get to them, not only did he not
respond, but all of a sudden all these posts started showing up as being
from doug. Agh. I am afraid to speak again. They say they're working on
it, but really, how hard can it be to figure out what changed 2 weeks
ago when it started?
In other news, BIG other news, a last minute show at Lizard and Snake:
Thursday January 16th (that's in a couple of days, folks), Azalea Snail
and The Spiders from Mars, who are Rebar, in fact, making good on their
threat to perform an entire set of David Bowie covers. No really. I am
not making this up.
Should be a downright amazing performance. Normally, the prospect of a
David Bowie coverfest would have me confused at best, but I've seen
three different Rebar Bowie covers, and each one walked that line
between accuracy and Rebar-ness just plum perfectly.
You wouldn't want to see it every week, but by the same token, you
damnsure don't want to miss it this first time. Guaranteed.
Check the website if you feel you need a further reminder. Oh, and if Bo
or somebody doesn't post about the CDS Documentary film happening thing
which is coming up in a few weeks, I'm going to have to. One word now:
the opening of the 25+under photo exhibit in Durham will feature
Wifflefist's AV Geeks showing films involving photos and the human eye,
and Wifflefist techno/remix combo Friend Side Monkey will be playing as
well. that's Friday the 24th, at like 5-7 p.m. or something similiarly
ridiculously early. Convenient, though.
That's all. I have CDs. I have covers. Look in your local stores
beginning Wednesday, please. Please. Purchase. Consume. Rock.
