My dear lady.  I shant lecture you upon this oh so _tedious_ topic, but
instead refer you to alt.flame.spelling, where you may find a moderately
illuminating discussion.  Let it suffice for myself to merely point out
that there are two schools of thought on this subject of punctuation and
quotation marks, and each has powerful adherents.  Please refer to
Austin's translation of Frege's _Grundlagen_ for an authoritative
illustration of my perspective on the "matter". 

Oh, and please avail yourself of a better sense of humor, while you're at
it.
