Are you sure about this?  Didn't Blockbuster's first Chapel Hill store
(Eastgate) open after Visart's Timberlyne and Elliott Road locations were 
established?

This reminds me of a question I've long wondered about.  Back when Liberty
News and Beverage (at South Square Mall) started renting videos in the 80s
and changed its name to "Visart", did that represent the takeover of a
local business by a chain or was that a local business beginning the
process of mutating into a chain?  (Or, perhaps, was Liberty not a
non-chain and/or non-local business to begin with?)
