care to elaborate on that one?
i work at ballbuster. not really by choice. they were the only place that
would hire me for more than minimum wage. as far as employee policies go i
don't agree with all of them either. i work there because it's the only job
i can get right now to work with my schooling. if there was a "ma' and pa'"
video store that i could get a job at for a little less money then i would
work there. things are quite different here than in the triangle area though.
it seems to me that everyone is pretty darn hypocritical about this big
corporation shit. people bitch about the big franchises and chains that
move into town all the time. how often do you buy your gas at the privately
own stations? drive an extra five or ten minutes to the "ma' and pa'"
grocery store? it's probably pretty rare. today's people are interested in
convienence. if its convienent to hop into the privately owned store then
so it goes. but if your lazy ass wants a pepsi cola and a moonpie you hop
to the "stop-n-go" that's on every corner. this whole idea of supporting
local business needs to go the max. if you've got to pay a few cents extra
at the "ma' and pa'" store, go to it. don't limit it to the record stores.
go to the privately owned whatevers for everything (beer, smokes, toilet
paper, etc.). they all need your business.
