continuing... (moretude than even i can sort through).

well, -your- reason, mayhaps. fer hart and i, prolly more mutual reminiscing
than anything that just happened to come up weirdly circumstantially along
with words of _the spectator_. in mentioning his spectator persona was hart's
reference to one of his other personae, huxley, also written -about- on more
than one occasion in _the spectator_. by godfrey. even.
>Jeff ("mondo" was a series of 2 local compilation albums in the early
>80's, of which, for some reason, some people still think fondly) Robins
still think fondly in the same way some future geezers will still think fondly
of cog map or scattered/smothered in fifteen years. even pine state will sound
dated and banal as all get out once peeps get enough perspective to figure out
there's a country deconstructionist band in every little college shitburg (and
more than one from almost fifteen years ago at that. CHADBOURNE!). so fucking
what. that might or might not affect our future enjoyment in retrospect but
won't disallow anyone from either rediscovering or finding other things
more upcomingly, uh, present. and dang if it wasn't godfrey as much as anyone
pushing mondo(s)/rick rock as hard as he could go. in _the spectator_. even.
i suppose i might ask, your point is?
looking back on mondo(s) i see a lot of sometimes self-important, sometimes
humane rock star wannabes/dilettantes with whom i was somewhat youthfully
enchanted, who never amounted to much other than to cash in what they might,
and who provided me and a few other of near enough like minds with a few nights
of drunken pleasure. looking about at today's, aha, analogs, i see the same
thing except i'm not so youthfully enchanted as i suspect more of where such
things lead and today's analogs subconsciously project a fair bit of bitter
passive-aggression in light of their predecessors lack of wider effect.
anxiety of uninfluential authorship, or whatever. seeing that such things don't
change much helps me remain somewhat fond of both mondo and mondo wannabes/
revisions.
you, me, beer. name, time, place.
