Maybe you should discover some of the archived posts on Ross'
alt.music.chapel-hill page. That'll give you a feel for the newsgroup;
how many people post to it, who they are, what the major topics of
discussion have centered around, and oh yes, the proper ettiquette for
posters to AMCH- especially when it comes to shilling.

And really, "not one reggae fan" in this whole area?

I'm sure there are many. I find the work of Mr. Bob Marley to be
especially potent. There are even a few bands that play reggae.

Plutopia, whom I saw a few years ago have been an area fave for a while.
They play “happy” reggae that's kinda rootsy.

The Jumpstarts play wonderfully evocative hybrid of reggae, ska, and
soul. Very tasty.

Rolly Gray and his combo Sunfire play a Trinidadian blend of reggae,
soca, and calypso.

If you really wanna see that stuff and are totally devoted to it,
there's a Sunsplash-like festival near High Point every year around
Sept. (could be wrong though). Lot's of touring reggae bands play in
Greensboro, Winston Salem and Raleigh.
